United Healthcare has announced that "PacifiCare of California" will be changing its name to UHC of California, doing business as UnitedHelathcare of California. By moving to a single, national brand, the company hopes to provide clear identification of its brand to members and ease of identification of claims to its Providers. The transition is expected to be completed by the end of July 2011. Along with a name change, United HealthCare is standardizing their logos to one logo. The name change will not affect how the company does business.

All references to PacifiCare will be replaced with "UnitedHealthcare." This name change only affects the Commercial line of business, therefore SecureHorzons and Evercare Medicare product names are not changing at this time.
